Yes, it's number 2. Buzz outside MLE HQ is that talks have progressed on bringing the incredibly popular Acme World Oyster Eating Championship back to the annual MLE circuit.

The contest, long the league's biggest event of the spring, was last conducted in 2005. It hasn't happened since and many believe that is due to the havoc Hurricane Katrina reaped on the Crescent City.

After the crisis the organization responded charitably through IFOCEgives, eaters like Crazy Legs and Badlands held fund raisers in NYC, and a young Joey Chestnut donated winnings. Our sources says the contest's return, while not officially announced, would be a great sign. It is widely known that all at MLE have genuine affection for Acme, New Orleans and those great Louisiana Oysters.
