Hall Hunt Scores Big Win in Corn
Hall Hunt hit it big on his home turf, grabbing a big title -- the world sweet corn-eating champion.
Hunt led throughout the 12-minute contest at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach, and despite a push by Joe LaRue midway through the contest, he ended with 33 ears of corn, 1.5 shy of the world record.
LaRue finished second with 31 1/4 while world record holder Crazy Legs Conti placed third with a reported 29 1/2.
SRO crowd and 2,250 in prizes. Sonya Thomas and Pretty Boy Pete Devekos finished up near the top as well.
