Chestnut Takes Nathan's on July 4
Joey Chestnut today won the Nathan's Famous July Fourth International Eating Contest by eating 68 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, 3 1/2 more than Takeru Kobayashi of Japan, his arch-rival. Patrick Bertoletti consumed 55 HDBs in 10 minutes to place third, closely followed by Eater X. (Complete results later.) FULL STORY

Reeves to Coney for the Fourth
The top eaters from the region and beyond had gathered for the eating contest, but the heat was greatest challenge in the Newnan, GA, Nathan's Famous qualifier, suppressing numbers and forcing some eaters to push back from the table. Jim Reeves of Buffalo stuck with it despite the difficulty and downed 22 HDBs in 10 minutes to win. FULL STORY
